I had to take the key out for the display to return to normal.

We could always take a car for test drive and "test" all the service buttons out.
I've gone into all the choices from the Service screen. As long as you don't do anything on the following screen, except hit BACK (in the upper right corner). Nothing bad happens.

Even on Tel, you just didn't wait long enough. You will eventually get a screen up where you could change echo cancellation parameters, etc. I think the wait is, it is scanning for a BT phone. But even on that screen you can hit BACK to return.

NOTE for ALL: I should add, nothing bad happened TO ME. Don't come back crying if your system screws up. I am NOT advocating doing this. And, BTW, you are not supposed to be in Service Mode, anyway. So you take your own chances.

It goes in on the 26th. I'll keep you posted. We still do not like the car. I have to say I do not hate it as bad but I still wish I did not buy it. The average mpg is worse now at 13.0. Something seems wrong. If it got 15 - 16 I wouldn't hate it so bad.

Default Mileage improves

Not sure how many miles you have but it took me a few thousand (break-in?) before my mileage started improving. I am now up to 16mpg which is pretty good considering the city driving (NYC) I do....hang in there!

I'm hoping that is the case. In Western, PA there are many hills and I think that pulls down the average.

I would say something is up with either the type of driving or the way you drive. I defintely get around 16-17mpg (and I use regular). I am not a conservative driver, but I also don't drop the accelerator out of a light.
I have noticed from most of your past postings, that if your so predisposed to hating the truck, I don't think anything that happens with it, will ever make you happy. YOU are probably better off getting rid of it and getting something you do like, and suffer the crap that IT puts you through. But, at least you will like driving it, no matter what the consequences of your actions.

Is there a difference in fuel efficiency between the 03-04 & 05? I see a lot of people quoting MPG figures they get. I personally get 16-17 around town (suburb, to urb), my wife gets better, closing in on 18. But we have a 04 which doesn't have the new engine improvements. I wonder if the 05's are less fuel efficient. My gut tells me the 05's would be better, but does anyone know?

Default I own(ed) both

I had the 2003 for 65000 miles and now have the 2005 for 25000 and the mileage (with regular) after the breakin period is exactly the same = 16!

The dealer fixed the NAV system under warrenty. They said some kind of wire was loose.
Mileage has gone up to about 14.
