Default Nav Display Garbled

I have a 2002 RX300. After touching "I Agree," the Nav Map screen turns garbled; 5 to 9 lines of meaningless horizontal dashes.

After 2 seconds, the screen returns to the original "I agree."

The Dest, Menu, Display, Info, and Audio screens all display and function normally. The Map screen is the only one garbled.

The Nav DVD appears clean and when I inserted it in my computer it read normally.

Is there a way to "reset" the Nav computer or somewhere to check for a loose connection?

Thanks!

Mother of all resets (that you can do) is disconnect battery for 20 min or so.

Not sure if this will cure your problem.

You might have your battery tested also. It seems this area is sensitive to low voltage.

Just a thought prior to a dealer visit.

Thank you so much! I just did the "mother of all resets" and this fixed my problem.

I will have the battery tested because my wife now tells me she's recently had difficulty starting the vehicle.

My dealer wanted $100-$150 to perform "diagnostics" for this problem!

THANKS AGAIN!
