Default I think I lost my mind..

Okay folks...

I think I might have lost my mind, but I'm considering a Cayenne turbo to replace the GX470. I know before you guys flame me for being so critical on the da&n thing... I am still not crazy bout how the dang thing looks, but the performance numbers are outstanding. Someone talk some sense into me!

What are you thinking? Tell us why. I considered CT before getting the GX ultimately chose the GX for couple of reasons. 1) It's for my wife. 2) If it was for me and I wanted that much speed, I would just get the 911 (faster, better mileage, etc..).

No need to talk sense into you. If you like it and WANT it, especially the turbo, get it and let us know

Default Go for it...

It would get the Cayenne/Tourag Turbo over the GX. I've had the GX for almost 2 years -- its WAY overrated, in my opinion -- the lack of quality in the GX astounds me, not to mention that cost of scheduled service after 10k, compared to that of the BMWs I've owned prior. A good friend has the Cayenne and loves it. If cargo space isn't an issue for you, I'd get the Cayenne in a heartbeat!

If you think the GX is poorly built buy a Touareg/Cayenne for me so that I can laugh at your new stories. Both of these vehicles have had horrible reliability records; consumer reports rated the Touareg dead last in luxury SUV reliability. Check out VWVortex for more info. Service costs on the Cayenne exceed that of the GX as well.

Oh yeah, before you tell me about your friend and how reliable his is....I have had a Touareg repurchased by VW. There are a lot more like me out there I know from experience.

As far as the original post...The Cayenne Turbo would be a kick to drive on a daily basis but I would be concerned because of the above problems. Also many Cayenne owners have had problems with their service departments not being trained properly to work on something so different from their norm, although I am sure some of that has decreased.

Nah, I'm over it now...I'm actually waiting for the new friggin GT3 or TurboS (997 Body) to be released. From what I've read and seen, it looks promising.

I would never give up the GX..it's been too good to me....I just need to get a fast toy now
