Default Vaistech avic-100i, handbrake overide

Just installed the vaistech avic-100i unit works ok, ipod integreation works good, but I am unable to use the aux video while driving, I have a 2004 GX, ML, NAV, no RES. The video only works when the hand brake is engaged, even when in motion and I slightly pull on the hand brake the video comes up, (audio is always on) any idea how to bypass this isuue, the other thread shows a 2003 GX with factory dvd. Also have a reduced brightness issue after instalation. The screen is distorted when the outside temperture is low and improves gradually as the car heats up. Called vaistech said will replace unit. Will update
