Default Wind noise over 60

I know this vehicle is not the most aerodynamic, but I was wondering, am I the only one who gets considerable wind noise and feels the truck move side to side under moderate windy conditions?

I am ok with the noise as I just turn up the ML a little and it all goes away - but today I decided to turn off the audio and I thought it to be a bit loud and annoying......

Thanks

Default Yes and No

My 2003 was very noisy (although pretty stable on the road)..I agree it was pretty annoying. My brand new 2005 (1-day old) is much quieter. Not sure if its a model year or just a per vehicle "luck" of the draw.

I have some noticeable noise above 60 in my '04 as well. I wonder how much of that is a result of the car being so quiet that the wind noise becomes apparent instead of engine, tire, etc noise. I have noticed that when I am with clients (of course radio off) I can hear the noise but am still impressed at the being able to speak at a lower volume than normal in a car.

I have the same problem, putting the adjustable suspension in sport helps with the side to side motion, but does not eliminate it. I have gotten used to the wind noise, which is not that bad. My wife's old Explorer was really loud! I think the wind noise might be caused my the side mirrors....just a thought.

Compared to the ES, the GX makes more noise at 40-75 MPH but not by much. The GX is steady as a rock on the freeway with moderate cross winds and the suspension set at the #2 Comfort position. My truck has Michelins BTW.

If you do not regularly use the roof rack, I would move the cross-bars as far back toward the rear of the truck as you can. Not having a cross-bar above the sunroof will cut noise considerably.

I see that you have KDSS, which I wanted but was not available with the options I got. That is supposed to help stop the side to side motion on the highway when it is windy. Overall, I am very happy with my GX and always have people comment on how quiet it is.

Yeah, but I'd rather have wind noise than a marred bumper...

Default Everyone may be different

Not sure why but it may really be a truck by truck luck of the draw. My 2005 is 90% quieter than my 2003....its an extremely noticable difference. I drove another 2005 at the dealer today and it had much more noise than mine.

About time I got lucky on this...
