2005 changes?
Man I knew as soon as I bought mine that they would bump the horse power the GX does need the HP for highway cruising and acceleration in the mid range. I bet the gas mileage will be the same or better than the current ones to.

HP changes are right, but the engine's not getting bigger, it's getting VVTi. Usually, VVTi gets better HP with the same fuel econ. One cool difference is a Sport Package with the usual cosmetic changes, as well as KDSS!
Is this change on the Toyota Press Room site or anything from Toyota/Lexus saying this, the only 270 I could find was the RX400h, 330hp gas engine and 40hp hybrid motor, faster and better gas mileage then the 330
edit:
I also read that the hybrid motor would be 70hp, the 400 minus 330 is
so then if that is true then the 370 is

This link has the new truck with a V8 hybrid engine. Even though it is a concept vehicle it demonstates the existence of the engine. So I really wouldn't be surprised to see this engine in a Lexus any day now. The 400h is ready to debut; on the same toyota site, check out the Hybrid Highlander which is in the works (release the Lexus before the Toyota..marketing sense).
As for the VVT-i, that doesn't surprise me. One way to tweak an engine for horsepower without too much modification is to do a cam-shaft overhaul..no biggie. In true Lexus style, incremental changes my boy...Kaizen style.
Now if they would friggin hurry up and redesign the LX470 w/ KDSS, hybrid big block V8 WITH TOWING CAPACITY and HID then I'd be in nirvana.
