Question Navigation DVD Update

Hello everone,
I need help on how to replace my navigation dvd with a newer one. I have the new dvd and was able to locate the gps/navigation system under the passenger seat. My question is, how to open the cover to access the old dvd? Any help is welcome. I heard, it should be easy, not in my case. Thanks.

The cover just pops off, looking towards the front of the vehicle from the back seat

Question

Thanks. There are two latches on the front panel, which says navigation/GPS. Should I lift them or lower to pop-up the front cover? Should I use any tools to remove the cover? Thanks again.

Default does the operating system update eliminate

the "I Agree" question at startup?

One could only hope.

Any idea if the DVD reader for the GPS reads DVD-R? If yes, then you can backup and save your original copy.

Tella, are there any new features beside the extra POI's on the DVD? I heard the DVD contains some updates. Is it worth the money?

Lightbulb

I know it has a number of new streets in Chicagoland area, this is what I use. In addition, it has over 5,000,000 POIs Vs 1,000,000 in the previous version.
Is it worth the money, you have to judge for yourself.
P.S. It does have the "I Agree " screen....

Default HOw do you know?

I have an '04 GX that was built in October. How do I find out if it has that new DVD version? That link says it was available early October for dealers to buy.

From the screen manual you should be able to display the version of your current disk. If it says somthing like 2003 ver.1x. then yours is up to the date.

Mine says:
ver.03.1

That Lexus parts link says:
“DATA 2003 ver.1”

Is that the same? Or does the DATA part mean something different?
