Default GX470 ball joint leaking

I have 07 with 165k, front left strut is leaking need to be replace. When my friend look at it, he also say the ball joint is leaking.
The car doesn't make any noise at only thing when you brake hard you can tell it has nose dive. ( my friend tell me because of the blown front struts )
Can you replace the ball joints separately since toyota doesn't sell separately, my friend suggest do the top and bottom ball joints same time.
Any inputs ? anybody has same situations before ? I will replace with OEM front struts by the way. thank you

You can replace just the ball joints, getting them out of the control arms can be a battle however. You are correct Toyota does not sell the ball joints as a separate part you must buy the entire control arm. Check these out.

If it was my truck I'd replace ball joints as needed like the leaking one(s) I'd leave the other alone if in good condition.

You're going to need an alignment after replacing a ball joint.
Depending on the available money, you might think about doing both left + right sides at the same time so you're not paying for the alignment twice.
(since the other ball joint(s) are the same age and mileage)

If you're going to replace ball joints in the LCA's, you should also be doing LCA bushings at the same time, as they are just as old.

Do upper and lower arm bushings and ball joints. Most GX470's need it at this point.
Get the greaseable joints, but be 100% sure of install orientation, directions usually indicate it.
