Any chance that the new iPhone Bluetooth will be compatable with my GS? iPhone Bluetooth is version 2.0. I believe that only version 1.2 (?) works on my GS. If it is not compatable is there anyway that the dealer can upgrade the bluetooth software to the latest version?

 

Bluetooth version 2 should be backward compatible to the 1.2 version. Theoretically it should work. It better be or I will be one very unhappy camper.

I just got a free Blackberry Curve from AT&T. There is absolutely nothing that iPhone does that would be worth paying $499 extra for. Or $399, or $299, or $199 for that matter. My Blackberry Curve is great for e-mail, browsing, calling, PDA functions; it has a 2 megapixel camera with flash, it has an MP3 player and I can store 4 Gb of media on a microSD card (the maximum available size today; to be increased to 8 GB later this year). A 2 GB microSD card cost me a cool $17!

 

I got the BB curve too, and it's fantastic, I agree, there is nothing that worth spending $600 on the iPhone, beside being just a social symbol. And if you want the same internet browsing experience on your BB check out Opera mini v4.0

 

I'm going to try to get one tomorrow. By the way, I think Lexus and MB are social symbols, Very good cars but also social symbols. Probably just me.

 

Is there anything on the Blackberry Curve that is not compatible with the 2007 GS350? The Lexus website has no info on it. Do all the features work or do yoy lose transfer of the phone book, roaming display and auto-answer like the 8800? I want to get one but would love to know what won't be working before I lay out any $$. Thanks in advance.

 

I think you right, Lexus, MB, BMW, Audi, Infiniti, Acura, Cadillac and a bunch of exotic cars are indeed social symbols; they are saying "I have money" and expect in Cadillac case "I have good taste", while the iPhone just said "I wait in line 10 hours for a overpriced, crappy keyboard, fingerprint magnet, phone". But hey, if that what it takes to get laid these days...

And, as many of us with a touch screen Nav system know, here is one of the real issue with the iPhone!

Please have someone over the age of 10 read my original message outloud to you. I never said I was going to buy an iPhone. I asked if it was compatable (btw a deal breaker for me if its not). It was the first question of many that I have before I make an INFORMED decision to purchase one or not.

I was not trying to attack you personally, it's just I'm sick and tired of the iPhone, you can't read a blog, open a magazine, a newspaper or watch TV without being bombarded with iPhone propaganda, this is just ridiculous, I sincerely hope that it is better than the latest Apple great thing, the AppleTV that turn out to be a dud.
