I must admit that the hype is outragous.

I want to get one but would love to know what won't be working before I lay out any $$. Thanks in advance.
I haven't tried phone book transfer yet. Everything else works great.

Screw what these other guys have to say. You wanted it, you could afford it, so you got it? Right? All these other whiners are sad. The iPhone (eventhough I wouldn't get it) is a bad *** phone and how can you compare functionality to style?

I can't even believe someone would compare a Blackberry to an iPhone....it's like saying a Camry is just like a GS or an Audi is just like a Jetta. Ha! Go back to your jobs at Geek Squad.

So i guess you're getting the iPHONE so you can match the "social symbols" that you drive?

I was planning in getting in line early to get one, but, since the main reason I wanted to get it was for good web browsing, I backed off entirely when the early reviews gave 2 minutes just load one web page unless you happened to be in wifi range. I decided to wait until the next rev of the iphone when 3G networking is supposed to be available on it.

I saw it again today and am interested in getting it again. Were you able to transfer phone book entries? Did you happen to try transferring any with a "pause" in the number? [In fact, if I knew I could transfer phone entries and a "pause" in them, I'd probably get the iPhone now, which I was told is only on a few wait for delivery now.]

Thanks

I have not tried transferring the phone book yet. The had something a AT&T to make it simple but I just wanted to get out after getting the phone. Most fun I have had is Wi-Fi so far. I have been amazed a how many places have it and it switches as soon as it senses one. My work has it and I can use it anywhere. Even outside. The internet is great and u can turn it on it's side and as you know it switchs auto. I love it but I understand not everyone likes them. What is odd to me is how people love it or hate it. Everyone who has seen it has loved it but when I posted an answer to the original question it became a hatefest. Each their own. I'm happy with it and they are happy without it. Does do every thing they show and well. Had no problem activating it. Took around 10-15 min. Will check on transferring phone book later and post. By the way you can sync with Outlook and transfer all of your entries from their if you want and it also picked up my favorites on EI 7.

If you could try one number with a "pause" embedded in it and see if the "pause" is still there after the transfer, I'd really appreciate it. I tried the iPhone at the store and it does let you insert a pause for things like banking and other apps where they want you to enter a code.

I've got way too many contacts to want them all on my phone. Does it give you any control or is it all or not?
