Default No acceleration !

Today I changed.my front shocks and the TPS Sensor.
Shocks were no biggy neither was the tps until I went to start the car and it turned over fine but when I gave it gas nothing happened the cable moves on the throttle body but engine doesn't respond . Car moves once the pedal is completely up against the floor ! Any input is appreciated as this is the only household car thanks

I would hold off on the throttle control motor until you are sure you have the tps installed correctly. If you have a decent obdii scanner it will tell you if the tps is installed correctly. If I remember correctly, at idle the tps should read 14-16%. The online manual details how to install it properly.

I would double check the installation, since the car was running better before rite ? Why did you replace it ?

Yes, it needs to be one that can read live data. I bought this one. It's good to have if you work on your car alot (since it's older).

The accelerator position sensor could be bad also. If you want to check the throttle control motor, check the online manual here.

You canuse a multi-meter to test the resistance of the motor to see if it's in spec.

Sound like the same issue I had. In my case it turned out to be the Accelerator Position Sensor. Engine would not rev pas roughly 2400 RPM either. You need to pull the codes and go from there.

P0120 - TPS Open/Shorted Circuit.

The sensor is not the problem in this case. You need to check the wiring that goes from the TPS to the ECM, not the sensor. Find it and repair the wire. Make sure there are no wire touching each other or cutted.

Exclamation

got to the ECM checked all connections everything seemed snug and tight no corrosion and i did the ohm test on the harness itself GOT nothing and i did the ohm test on ECM and numbers came back good
after putting the ohm tester to each sensor only one that came back with 0.0 was the throttle control motor !

Just make sure you are checking the tcm at the plug under the hood. When I changed mines it wasn't zero but it was out of spec. I don't think zero ohms is correct. That would mean a complete short. You have to check certain pinouts in the tcm connector. Did you check it the way the manual tells you to?
