Default Car back from paint shop found something interesting

Gave the car a refresher. Fix and painted front bumper, rear spoiler, side skirts and decided to do the glossy black roof. (Thanks for the input for those of you who answered the poll and gave opinions)

When the roof was done, the painter removed the tape covering the molding by the roof and the tape took off the painted part of the molding. Interestingly enough, it looked very cool bare. I don't know if this was reported before, so here I am doing it.

This it what it looked like before, notice the white trim by the roof that also goes down the front and rear windows.

here is the car after the roof painted and that molding without the white paint on it. It was actually a tape placed on the molding and was painted white. I was surprised toyota did something like this.

If it wasn't for the tape that was on this piece, i would have never guessed it looked this nice.

I believe it. On my 2004 RX330, when I had to have the rear passenger door replaced, Joel from JL had to reapply the black glossy tape for the window trim. You know that black painted looking piece around the window frame? I always thought it was painted black, but it is actually a vinyl tape. If they were doing this as late as 2004, I would bet that most of that trim pieces are done this way currently as well.

PS. Black roof looks nice. Might consider doing this for my Parchment Crystal Peal myself

Not a fan of the front bumper or hood over here, but nice nonetheless.

Where did your sunroof go, Sir?!

It might serve some purpose for cooling though. I believe he has a turbocharger on his V8.

Do you mean the B pillar, or the trim around the windows themselves?
