Default Update: Interior LED project

I wanted to share the progress on current LED instrument control changes.

The background of the climate control is slightly blue if you look at it directly from the front (the picture was taken at a slight angle). From the drivers and passenger seat, the background is more black. The text/symbols are white from all angles. During the day the background is completely black and the text/symbols are white.

I am currently trying to find a way to dim the bright blue indicator LED's.

With the help of another member that has performed this previously, I removed the orange paint from "R" and "M". Unfortunately I used the wrong product to remove the paint and it began to strip some of the black around the indicator. I purchased a new one but before installing we will be figure out how to evenly distribute the light. As you can see some of the indicators are dim.

I will attempt another way to have the seat warmer indicators as bright as the "ECT" and "VSC" indicators. It is a little difficult due to the size of the original bulb and the space underneath the button.

I tried to make the orange "ON" indicator on the seat warmer more red when turned "ON" using a red LED but I will attempt another way to make it a more deeper red.

- End of photos

After I finalize the results, I will continue by changing the other LED's such as the door/window controls, etc.

For the PWR and VSC buttons you can just use neo wedge bulbs. Find them on ebay.

194s? And where did you get the bulbs for the orange and seat warmer? And it's a PITA to take that assy apart...almost broke the damn tab.

Wow! That looks very clean. There is a way to change the bulbs in the shifter right? I thought I saw it a while ago but I can't seem to remember the details.

Not 194's. Check for Neo Wedge Bulbs on ebay. I think all four buttons on the wood console use the same neo wedge. Yeah I took it apart once and the plastic is really brittle. Be careful.
