How do you change the number of times the lane change blinker blinks. Default is 3. Manual says it can be changed to 5 or 7. Service dept. couldn't do it.

The owner manual states tha this a dealer adjusted customization.

 

yes it is a dealer customization.
took mine in for service last week, requested change to 5 vs standard 3.
they had never done before, it took a couple of hours and numerous attempts, said code would not hold, and communications with California - but they got it done.

 

I wonder what the full list of dealer personalizations there are for our cars?

5 or 7 clicks would make more senses & safety than 3 clicks.

There must be a hidden menu for dealer to change it. I got mine change to 7 clicks at dealer.

I have Techstream access and OBD2 cable to access to service menu at home but I couldn't locate the option to change the blinker blink. I can change every other options within 30 seconds.

There are some other customize options not on the list that can be change: seat belt chime, windows roll down with holding unlock on the fob, how the AC on/off, disable AC vent, disable auto windows, interior lights, footwell lights, driver seat & steering wheel entry access disable......

 

No digital clock option..., darn

 

That's kinda dumb, in Gen 4.5 LS you can customize it in the setup options.

 

Really, besides the "vehicle customization' button in setup, having the one-touch window and sunroof open is the only "hidden optimization." It says that the dealer has to do it, which is true, except for the 2013 RX350 and the 2012 CT. I have no idea why, and I work for Lexus as a technology specialist.

It is done by the dealer. I work at a dealer and we had a guy change it for a customer this week. It isn't an option in the techstream. I think he found a TSIB on how to do it.

 

I will try to post the instructions tomorrow. It can be done yourself (doesn't need to be hooked up to the TIS computer like most LPS).
It's kind of a silly process, just a series of moving the wiper stalk. I changed mine to 5, but then went back to 3. (In the LS460 it's in the vehicle customization accessed in the nav screen.)
