Default Michelin PSS Degradation

I'm one lucky fella...

My local car wash pointed it out when they noticed a slight puncture.
Thank God our cars come with the mobility spare wheel.

Bought these tires back in April of 2020. I believe the fact that my car is lowered and running on 25mm spacers up front played a major role in this happening. Keep in mind my car has been aligned to factory camber.

Just enough to get me to the tire shop for a set of fresh rubber. The car now handles like a dream.

That's not a camber issue. It's a toe issue related to the big squishy bushing at the rear of the lower control arm in the front. More info in this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...alignment.html

I run solid bushings in the rear on my IS F now to minimize this problem.

Thank you bro, I'll address this immediately.
May I ask where I can get those bushings? That thread is pretty old and long, I couldn't find the bushing you sourced to minimize this issue.

I assume those are either the FIGS bushings or the RR Racing USRS

Yeah that looks like the common toe in issue like Lobux said, one way to fix the issue for more even tire wear is running solid bushings.

Here's one from RR

https://www.rr-racing.com/Lexus-Lowe...isfxlca001.htm

Figs sells them as well.

I installed these and set the toe to zero.

I started with polyurethane from Figs, and went to solid. Poly is a good compromise. Solid has it's own issues, and if your roads are not good, I would not recommend them. They transmit sharp bumps to the chassis with zero attenuation, so they can be very noisy on bad roads. On the plus side, braking from track speeds is greatly improved, and steering sharpness is also greatly improved. Like any mod, it's a trade off.

I still run a little toe out, and it definitely wears the inside edges of the tires faster. If you want max tire life, go with zero toe.

Thank you folks, because now I understand why my car feels strange on turns. I've always complained of slight understeering or strange turning locks in tight corners or parking lots. It seems most Lexus cars have this issue.

After reading lob's thread in detail, everything makes sense now. Need to get those bushing and have my entire front lower control arms checked too.

Bushings have been installed.
Will pick up the car this afternoon.

Fingers crossed.

The big obvious differentiator is high speed full performance braking. The wandering of the back end disappears.

Oh my God.. why didn't I do this earlier?
You know what else has improved? Tight turning in parking lots and spaces and U-turns. That slushy slippery understeer feeling is gone!!!!

My tires are in good hands now.

Yeah, I forgot about that. No more chatter from the front end at parking lots speeds dealing with parking spaces, especially when backing up with the wheels turned full lock.
