My 2020 has about 13k miles and the brakes were squealing like a bus at a stop sign. I brought it in last week to do the TSB. With the new pads, it doesn’t bite as hard(that’s okay for me) but it also doesn’t bite on the whole rotor it seems. Is this normal?
you can see the rust on the outer diameter where the pads are not making contact.

That doesn't seem right but I havent seen what pads the tsb uses. If it is the right ones, the pads are smaller?
From my own research, the new pads need to bedded in. New pads are beveled at the edge so they might take a couple hundreds miles to even out. I only put in less than 100 miles since the change. Will keep an eye on it.
There’s a tsb on all model year GSF on the original pads. the replacement seem to be less performance but I don’t track the car and likely never will. It’s embarrassing to come to a stop when your car sounds like a bus. It didn’t bother me when the weather was cold and the windows were up. But now it’s finally nice here and I can’t stand the squealing noise from the brake with the windows down.

All the pads were replaced. Only the two front are showing the outer ring.
with WFH, the GSF don’t see a lot of mileage. It might be awhile for me to hit a couple hundred miles to see if the pads will evenly worn in or if the dealer didn’t install it right.
The squealing doesn’t bother me, I’d rather have the performance pads over quieter ones. However less dust is definitely a plus. I have some Project MU pads and new rotors sitting in the garage for when the time comes. Next time you drive the car do some aggressive stopping to try and bed the pads in a bit.
My new Brembo pads on my TL Type S wore like that until I actually bed them in after the first two days of driving on them. After bedding them in they wore evenly. I doubt they used the wrong pads because the caliper sizes on the other GS models are smaller so the pads would likely not even fit in the caliper.

The dust was another issue with the original pads. After I wash the car, I usually take it for a short 1 block ride to clear the rust on the rotor. After the drive, the wheels are already getting brake dust on them.
I already like the car better with the new pads. It doesn't give me the whip lash when I stop and go.
Yeah I'll admit that the squealing is kinda getting annoying and the brake dust is just flat out annoying. I'm debating on whether or not to do this as I would like to track the car once or twice this year.
Definitely keep us posted as the above user mentioned.

When did you notice the squealing becoming this bad? Like around what mileage? I am almost 7K miles and the brakes don’t squeal as much as what you are describing. This makes me wonder if the squealing will become much worse over time. Thanks for your input.
