Default 265 on 8.5" wheel? Help

hello, i had some 20inch Ag wheels in storage i wanted to put on my GS to see how it would look.
Looking into it the tire size i would like to run seems to be to big? will it fit or will it hang over the rim? any solutions would be nice i would like to try this out. The wheel off set is an ET26.
Also would not being lowered look funny to the eyes? interested to hear your thoughts thanks !

The recommended rim width for a 20" wheel and a 265/30/20 tire is from 9" to 10". I would not deviate from that.

A 265 really needs a 9.5-10 inch wheel. Sure it will fit in an 8.5 but performance will suffer. The sidewalls will flex due to the tire width and you’ll still only have a 225-235mm contact patch.
