like you will all come to see I am on the hunt for a GSF. I am familiar with the Platform having owned a Gs350 prior.
I came across this vehicle in the search a couple of days ago and have been attempting to track the owner. I must have spent 5+ hours searching historical post looking for an introduction or a build thread of this Vehicle.
the overall mileage doesn’t concern me but the car fax maintenance gaps do. There is an instance of 40k miles in between any noted services. 1 owner in the history so hopefully some of you know
who they’re so I can confirm a couple of things.
For me, my Carfax doesn't show any maintenance beyond the first two free maintenance offered by Lexus since after the two free maintenance, I do oil changes myself. Its quite possible that this is the situation here.
I can't say that I recall seeing this car on here.

That was my thoughts when I originally started reviewing the history. I just want to be sure. My thoughts were.. with the savings I could handle any maintenance or replacement of wearables upfront.

Mine is exactly the same. I do have one thing none of the others do. The entire history of used oil analysis at every oil change is documented for both my IS F and GS F. If there were anything wrong with the engine, it would be easy to spot there. But anything else is recall/warranty only.

that makes me feel pretty confident plus I love this paint color.
What happened to the blue one you found at the Audi dealer?
Steve
Hey Steve it’s still on my radar but their price is a little high compared to those in the Midwest. I’m comfortable with taking a higher mileage vehicle that has been maintained appropriately.
from the video the car I mentioned it didn’t seem that bad. Plus.. I want the red interior 😁
Honestly although it had damage in 2016, everything appears to have been repaired appropriately. I don’t see the owner driving around with a poorly repaired vehicle and turning it into a dealership without any question.
Also the car was under a loan at that time and would need to be repaired per loan agreement.
I am surprised the previous owners weren’t active here.
The Carfax doesn't really indicate that it was in an accident. Damage reported not accident.
For example, a dump truck spilled a crap ton of pebbles right in front of me resulting in like 100 chips and 1 very tiny one on the roof, I reported it to insurance and they paid for it to get a complete respray. When I looked at the Carfax months later out of curiosity, it shows exactly like what the Carfax above shows except it shows damage all over my car.

You make a good point. I work in the insurance industry and if it weren’t for it being frowned upon and borderline illegal I would run the vin and pull the actual damage to the vehicle.
I bought a 4runner with 2 service history record, about 10 years ago. It was a 2003..limited with 94k miles. ..out of curiosity I went to look at the Acura dealer that was selling it. I saw a guy there already checking it out I asked him if he's also interested. It was an older gentleman who told me he is the previous owner that was missing the car so came to check it out. As a somewhat car enthusiast myself I could totally understand. This 4runner was the cleanest car I had seen in my life, paint was perfect, the frame was coated with rust proof sealing when it was new. The leather was better than my lexus LX. He went over about an 30 mins about his car and did all the work himself, even as far as tire rotation. Mind you, this guy was in his high 60s and his wife forced him to get an MDX and trade that in. He even told me how much the dealer gave him.
even though I just went to check it out, I ended up buying the car right there. I owned it for next 30k miles and then my brother in law bought it. The car is still in the family and while it was with me I lifted it, put on larger wheels tires upgraded the whole radio system etc. It has about north of 200k miles and runs like brand new.
Taught me a lesson, dont be shy of the high mileage car with no history. I would recommend you check the car out, drive it, better even get it inspected.
