Default My new mods

Hey guys,

I just added a few mods to my car; an RR Racing full intake system and a PTS Joe Z Full free flow exhaust, and I thought to share my experience with the new mods and some pics .

I installed the RR Racing intake system a couple of days ago, which made the car a little bit smother, but you really need to know the car to notice it. Today, I added the PTS Joe Z full exhaust system. The car has transformed into another level. The response is instantaneous, specially at the mid range, and the sound is just perfect for me - exactly what I was looking for. There is some drone, but I don't mind it, and it is a preference thing, but below 2000 rpm you barely can hear it or tell. Above 2000 rpm it starts to growl, like the beast it is, and it gets loud and very responsive the higher rpm goes. I'm posting some pictures and some clips, and I hope you enjoy them.

RR Racing pics (don't mind the dust, it will be cleaned today ;-) )

Those exhaust tips look great! One of my biggest gripe with the orm exhaust is it looks too tame and I hate how its recessed behind the rear bumper, rather than having it extend a little further past the bumper

The OEM exhaust pipes are small and too restrictive. The craftsmanship of the PTS Joe Z exhaust is top notch, and I can't be happier. Actually, some think the PTS Joe Z tips look like they are very industrial, but they are not if you see them in real life.

I was contemplating between the PPE exhaust system, RR Racing exhaust system, Apexi N-1 system and PTS Joe Z's, which they are all great systems, but I did not want a dual sound exhaust system where you have to deal with closing and opening the exhaust to change its sound levels. Also the PTS Joe Z's value for money is way up there.

Like I said, it is a personal preference, nevertheless the drone is not that bad and very minimal. I don’t believe there is any sport exhaust out there that does not provide some kind of a drone. I would not call the exhaust crappy, specially that it is a very functional cat-back exhaust system with high craftsmanship and not just for looks or sound. Having said that, I do respect your opinion.

You are welcome.

Used to live there, but unfortunately not any more. I do miss it though. Currently, I'm between Kentucky and Riyadh, but mostly Riyadh.

Just added the Tom's CF Body Kit.

Big shout and thanks to Josh from Meraki Autoworks for making this possible.

Hey Josh, thanks.
The next thing might be headers, but I need to ensure that I get a tune with it, and so far, I can't find a tune for a 2018. I was considering PPE EL headers with a RR-Racing ecu tune, but they only have it for the 2017 and I'm not sure if I want to swap my 2018 ECU with a 2017 ECU, even if it is tuned. I also looked at sikky headers, but again I don't feel like cutting into my computer wiring as per their instructions. Therefore, I guess I will take some time to decide which direction I want to go and surprise you guys .

No need to swap ECU's honestly.
Getting a check engine light on our MIddle East cars is a 50/50 chance.

Personally, I would go with EL PPE headers from RRR along with their tune.
I believe your 2018 is tuneable as opposed to the 2016 models for some reason.

I don't know why they don't manufacture headers with high flow cats?

I was under the impression that a tune for aftermarket headers was optional. When I put EL on my STI I didn't tune it until I went bigger turbo and the AFR was fine and no CEL.

You'll gain an extra 10% HP and TQ if you you get a tune with the headers from looking at the RR website.

Will the car throw a CEL if you have aftermarket headers without a tune?
