Hey guys so i got new wheels for my GSF and have a question regarding TPMS.
Im getting new sensors so they will need to be programmed to the car.
For those of you that have gone to the dealer to get this done how much do they charge?
Do any of you have a tool that you use to get this done? I see that ATEQ makes a Quickset tool that should allow for this to be done at home. Wonder if anyone
has ever heard or used it.

 

Take it to a toyota dealer, they'll do the work much cheaper and sometimes faster with better service than a lexus dealer. I had a toyo dealer swap out my brake pads with TOMS for half of what the lexus dealer wanted to charge me.

 

Most tire shops have the tools to do this these days. No need for a dealership visit at all. NTB reprogrammed my IS F when I got all new sensors in my late model wheels.

 

I use and have friends that use the ATEQ Quickset with no issues.

 

ok cool thank you thats what i was looking at also the quickset tool. How easy is that tool to use?

 

Hook it up to a computer and put in your TPMS IDs for multiple cars, etc. Transfer from PC to Quickset. Hook up to OBDII, power on the car, push the summer or winter button. You need the TPMS IDs (separate tool or visually read ID on sensor). I have a friend who scanned all mine and I wrote them down. That tool is cool because it also displays the tire pressures and temps (wish the temps were reported to the car too). There are YouTube videos showing the process.

 

Pressures and temps are available using Techstream. Lexus chose not to give us a display for it. Small secret, you can force the TPMS sensor to broadcast its ID code by dropping pressure by more than 5 psi rapidly.
