No, they didn't keep the same engine. There is a considerable power difference between the two and very few common parts. They just kept the designation the same.

 

 

I had contaced Lexus customer service and confirmed 1,418 units produced in 2016 with 173 in USB; sadly I wasnt able to get exact color combo and option build numbers due to those being in their historic archive.

 

Are there any updates to the yearly GSF production numbers? I can’t find anything that updates 2017-2019.

 

BUMP - I would also love to know '17-'19 production numbers. Would Lexus Corp have these numbers and be willing to share them ?

 

I hope they do share them at some point. Based on VINs, ISF and RCF 2nd year dropoff, I'd estimate the total GS F production to be 3,000 +/- 500. I believe that to be worldwide---but this is just a guestimate!

 

These are the number of registered GSFs in the US/Canada today. The number in parentheses represent Canada numbers.

2019 - 170 (7)
2018 - 166 (2)
2017 - 341 (12)
2016 - 1,387 (38)

These numbers don't include the number of totaled or cars that haven't been sold. There's probably some that have been sold but have never been registered.

 

No wonder it was hard to find a good used 2017-2018 Lexus GS F, the number of registered cars is super low compared to 2016

FYI. In inquired about a few specific colors and got this response:

For the 2017 model year, we sold a total of 337 GS F Units. Here is the breakdown of the 3 colors:

• Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 – 31 units (only 2 had the Stratus gray interior)
• Matador Red Mica – 13 units
• Liquid Platinum – 14 units
