I am thinking $1500. I am thinking about buying a GSF from the other side of the country but I am wondering what i'll pay. I am assuming $1k - $1.5k. Is that reasonable?

Any gotchyas with shipping a car? Normally how long will it take? I assume 2 weeks?

It depends on whether you ship with a covered carrier or on an open carrier. For a brand new car I wouldn't even look at open carrier prices; rocks and other debris could really wreak havoc on a cross country trip. I priced a covered carrier from Northern Virginia to Phoenix for my 2016 RX and the pricing varied from $1900-$2250. And the time estimate was 2-3 weeks.

You could go uncovered if the shipper uses car covers or other protection. All cars moving from Port to dealers on those big rigs are open shipped with that giant vinyl sticker covering everything. Also with a closed shipper there are two big opportunities to whack the mirrors and other parts during loading and unloading. Something to consider. Call some shippers and get some details.
