Hey everyone, I have some slight damage to my black chrome front grille surround piece. Sounds like it was from a rock chip possibly where moisture may have got under the chip and/or caused to delaminate. It is not a huge eye sore but I am planning to do a chrome delete and don’t want it visible or causing any issues down the road.
Curious if anyone has replaced theirs and if they did it themselves? How difficult it was to do? I believe this is the part number: 5312130260 (it is around $500-600)
It's held on by screws. Not that bad at all to remove and install a new piece.
Brief follow up to this…do I need to remove the bumper to replace this or can the screws be reached from the inside once the front engine cover piece is removed?
(I just removed the bumper on my GS350 to replace a headlight ballast so I know it’s probably the same (or similar) clips and screws. It would be awesome if I don’t have to deal with bumper removal though)
@Fis4Forty Did you end up replacing? Curious on the install. I have a similar spot on mine where it looks like a rock hit. The AZ desert is not forgiving with rocks. Just had the windshield replaced too.

The piece is waiting at the dealership but I haven’t picked it up yet. Kind of in limbo at the moment because my plan is to do a chrome delete. I have 3M gloss black vinyl wrap but Vivid came out with new ColorFusion wrap that is gloss black PPF however it is out of stock. Since vinyl doesn’t protect like PPF, I may wait until I can get the new PPF before picking up and installing the grill surround. Like you said, rocks are a pain out here in AZ (I just had a huge rock spider my windshield yesterday and just tinted it two months ago) so before dropping the $700 on the new grill surround, I want to make sure I can protect it before potentially running into the same issue.
