I've got a 2016 GSF that has developed a rub/rattle in the rear passenger side. After pulling up seats and ruling out a few things I believe it is coming from the grab handle back there. Can't find an exact match for the GSF, but for other GS and Lexus models the clips can rub to make the sort of noise I'm hearing.
I can't figure out how to get these suckers off though. Anyone done this in the GSF? The handles and covers look the same as in this video for the NX300 (and other Lexus/Toyota videos) but no matter what sort of pick I use or how much pressure I apply in any direction the covers do not budge. This guy looks like he's barely touching the things and they pop out. I've got to be doing something wrong so figured would ask here!
The factory service manual shows the exact same procedure for the grip handles in the GS F. Pull on the sides to release the locking piece, pull on the handle straight away from the roof and press on the metal locks to release the grip handle.
Appreciate it, just gave it another shot and got it this time. Ended up using some of my lock picking bits. In case others find this later, here's a pic (a bit blurry, sorry) of the back of the cover with the fins you have to move to the side. I was pushing too much inwards, and not pulling out to the side enough for the clips to clear. Once those are out the metal clips are easy to squeeze and pop out. I scrapped up the clips a bit in my flailing but if they are noticeable when back in looks like I can order some new one for a few bucks.
Unfortunately, noise is still there with handle completely removed so I'm going to keep looking. Where can I find a service manual? I don't mind purchasing one at all but failed to find it.
