Hood blocking wiper arms
We had our first snow this week and I found out that the hood on my 2015 GS350 covers the hinges in the Wiper Arms so that the wipers can not be lifted off of the windshield. It is not like the car has hidden wipers that are covered by the hood in the off position. I can't believe I can't lift my wipers up to prevent them from freezing to the windshield. Changing wiper blade inserts is going to be a royal pain. Is this normal for a GS350?

It's always smart to spend some time looking at the Owners Manual.

Thanks to everyone for responding and especially to Chinee for posting the video. I've never seen a car with this feature before but since my original post have noticed that the wipers on my neighbor's Infiniti are positioned in a similar fashion. I wouldn't expect to find anything in the owners manual about this since I had no idea this could be a feature.
Once again thanks to everyone for setting me straight.

OP - you need to go read the “what did you discover about the GS today” thread. It might be a sticky.
I did the same thing as you with the wipers the first time I went to wash the car. I thought the previous owner had wrecked it which goofed up the hood placement or something LOL.
I was happy to find out it was just a cool feature!
