I basically want a spoiler that is larger then those small F sports I have seen linked, would prefer not to take the emblem off like you have to do for the Wald or knockoffs. What you have seems nice or something like it.

I put the non-f spoiler on my Lux edition. Read how so many have had great success with tape and considered it seriously. My wife took her car (13 RX) to the car wash and the system cleanly yet completely removed the driver’s side molding, which was taped on at the factory. Only one end was attached and it had a bolt. I know everyone just cringed with my car wash comment, but we get monsoons here in AZ and it gets super hot. If I need to meet a client, the car is going through the car wash, so figured factory bolt on method was best.

I am still looking at spoilers but will likely order soon, will also be painting it myself. Anyone have any tips or experiences using dual sided tape, anything you learned to do or not to do as that will be the way I attach it. I definitely don't want to drill holes in my trunk.

The biggest issue with tape is if you don’t do it right, you had one shot. Preparation and using the right quality materials is key. Plenty of YouTube videos on taped on spoilers. What made me squirrely on tape was when the factory installed trim pulled right off on my wife’s car as mentioned above, so I guess someone messed that up even at the factory? Don’t know, our car was a lease return, so who knows, but the door has not been repainted, so can’t chalk it up to a shop screwing it up. That’s one story against tons of successful installations though.
Drilling isn’t as scary as it sounds either. Still comes down to proper prep. You use a template and seal the area with industrial sealant, just as it would be at the factory. The spoiler on my GX was installed and drilled at the dealership in 06. I sold the truck in 16 and no issues whatsoever with rust. I can’t imagine tape staying on as long, but that’s just me. I’ve seen plenty of trim fall off after years, but there’s been improvements in adhesive technology too. It’s all about weighing options and doing things the right way and not cutting corners or being rushed either way.

When using tape, the factory spoiler has two cuts per side, right where the trunk line meets the spoiler. They look like the tape is short in those parts, but they are short to allow a gap for water to drain. If you don’t leave the same drainage channels, water will either puddle up on the trunk, or sit across the tape lines inside the spoiler. can’t imagine that being too good in a freeze.
