How to keep Navi in day mode
i know this has to have been covered already, but I’m not finding it in searches. Any way to keep the Navi in day mode? I don’t see that option in the same spot as our RX.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Try this:
Once the NAV system is in Night Mode (must be in Night Mode) see if you have the option of switching it back to the Day Mode by using the DISP button (on the steering wheel) and if it is available then tap on the Day Mode button. If this option is available (it might not be), this should brighten the screen up to Day Mode even at night and/or when the headlamps are On. However, this Day Mode option using the DISP button will likely not be available during the day - only available when the sensor senses darkness.
On certain models of Lexus/Toyota if you turn the instrument cluster light all the way to the up to maximum brightness it turns the Day Mode On automatically, therefore to prevent Day Mode at night the instrument cluster lighting must be at least one level down from maximum brightness. This feature is actually the best method in my opinion because you can quickly change the screen from Night Mode to Day Mode and then back again with the instrument brightness control.
Typically, using Day Mode at night (especially with no ambient lighting such as street lights, parking lot lighting or nearby store front lighting) makes the screen way too bright and takes your attention away from driving.

day mode appeared under Display while driving at night. For some reason it wasn’t showing up while in the garage like our RX did. I envoked day mode, then reduced brightness. Now the maps dim to a comfortable level, while remaining in full color instead of flipping to black. At least IMO it’s easier to see and read this way.
Thanks.
Glad you got it working the way you want. Appreciate you letting us know...

This is my concern. The auto headlights will come on briefly when I pull into the garage. The same happens in the morning getting to work, the auto headlights will turn on when I start her up in the garage, then will turn off once I pull out of the driveway. Should I be concerned about the LED headlight longevity? Since these are LED headlights I'm not as **** about it, but if it's HID I'd definitely turn off the auto headlight feature.

Do you use the auto-down when in reverse feature for the rear-shade? If so, are you concerned with burning out the rear-shade motor? How 'bout the driver's seat auto-retraction feature burning out the motor?
