Default RE: Mode Button

Hello all..
Question about the "Mode" button/function.
I pressing the Mode button through all the settings does not seem to change the display color or tint.. If I recall when I first purchased my GS I could scroll through the settings and the display would change in real time.
Am I missing something or maybe I changed a setting that disabled the Mode button function? I read somewhere that the Mode button is somehow tied in with a Navigation screen setting.

Thanks much..

THe Mode button changes the hue of the cluster gauges depending on the light entering the cabin (I believe). I don't recall what I have mine set to currently, but the hue is a little more blueish, and at nighttime when the headlights are on it has a bluer hue to it. Try toggling the Mode button while your headlights are on and you'll see what I'm referring to.

Thanks..
I tried with the lights on and still no change between settings. I'm stuck.. I have been working in the Techstream software, I'm wondering if I chnaged a setting that affected this mode function.

There's a photodetector immediately below the third brake light, and when you have the glass in AUTO, the instrument cluster glass tint will adjust based on light intensity data from the photodetector. Try setting it to auto and shining a really bright light on the photodetector and see if that makes the glass turn blue

You won't really notice it during the middle of the day however try driving east in the evening when the sun is at your back, it should turn blue.
