Default Front Strut Replacement

Lexus wanted 980 dollars to replace 1 front strut on my car. Yes only the strut and nothing else. Anyone ever paid to get a new OEM strut replaced?

How many miles before the strut failed ? Out of warranty I'm assuming.

They are wanting 980 dollars to replace 1 front strut. Lexus of Englewood has them for 238 each plus shipping. It's less than 2 hours of work at 125 an hour. That comes out to 488. Even if I had to pay full price for the part (335), the total comes out to 585. Their alignment cost 200. So if you throw in the alignment, it still no where close to 980.

I asked for an itemized invoice but they did not want to provide it because they were too busy. I am savy enough to do it myself but I was wanting to get this done under warranty. Will release all details later.

If your car is out of warranty, then do your repairs elsewhere.

I think that should be covered under your original 4yr/50k bumper to bumper warranty. Did they quote you $980 and say that its not covered?

Your car is covered under warranty. What was the service guy smoking that day? Go back and speak to the service manager. Your total should be $0.
