The piece is swappable, but it will take a little of work to get it out. I don't believe there is a how to thread created, but you will need to remove the glove box. Once you remove the glove box there are actually 2 - 3 screws that holds the trim piece.
There is a TSB for this I will try to locate it but it should be covered under the warranty.
The TSB only covers the front door trims. It's under the discretion of the dealer to fix other trims, and honor the TSB if it's outside of stated VIN. Here is a link for the TSB:

Thanks guys. I will see about getting the trim piece for the dash and installing it. I am comfortable with tear down and rebuild so now it is a matter of part availability and cost.
