Default Passenger Window Replacement

Anyone ever got their passenger side front window (glass) replaced?
Lucky me , someone damaged my window and left some marks that looked like trying to break glass.
Not sure if I should leave it as is since the damage is only on the outside. Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated. TY

You must have laminated acoustic glass. Call your local Lexus dealer see if the glass is still available, I doubt it. If not try here, quite a few popped up when I did a search.

Car-part.com or local glass shop if you need help.
Park your car in a garage. Don't leave anything exposed in plain view (loose change, a phone ect)

@LeX2K Dang, how can you even tell if its acoustic glass? Must have super keen eyes. I tried Car-part they only got the laminated non acoustic ones, closest one is 70 miles away. Will give the dealership a ring tomorrow and see how it goes.

@909 NYC parking so I never leave anything visible inside the car cabin...just my luck.

Thanks for the quick responses!

Widen your search on car-part.com, I found several acoustic glass options think I put in a California zip code. That must be laminated otherwise it would have shattered.

The non laminated glass would have shattered. They only broke the pane on the outside, then there is the laminated/acoustic layer, and the inside pane.

Looks like you have the double pane glass. I don't think single pane replacement glass will fit correctly.

@bclexus Trying to save enough to get a property in the burbs..

Checked a few dealership...there's one in NJ that's got the laminated acoustic glass for $350 (150discount). Now I just need to find a trusty shop to do this.

Thanks for all the inputs!

HI, Someone vandalized my 2015 Luxury passenger window and I had it replaced by Safelite home installation. I had Lexus OEM acoustical glass installed and there have been no problems. The cost would have been close to $600 without insurance.

@Terryb Dang, sorry to hear that but might be another route to consider. Just to clarify, Safelite had the OEM acoustic glass when they came and replaced your passenger window? Thanks

Yes, the Safelite mobile repair came to my home and installed the replacement window. I specifically ordered the acoustical glass, but the first try they came out with the regular glass and it doesn't fit. The acoustical glass has wider window channels. They returned a few days later with the correct glass and did a good job installing it.
