Default B.C a quick question

If i was missing a cover underneath the car by the oil drain plug could that keep my car from being stable. The reason am saying because sometime it hard to keep my car in control snd on windy day it get worse. So today i was driving with all four window down and my car drove like i was in control more so am hoping that may be my problem. Here some pic one from the internet and the other my car

While it might cause a little bit of under-car turbulence, I would not think it would cause any car stability issues.

It looks like it was broken off. Is that a piece of it still attached? That might cause a wind noise flutter issue.

My 2013 AWD seems very planted. Especially after driving my wife's Honda HR-V or my daughter's Honda Civic. Those things really get blown around by semis and cross winds.

@Cal916 - I totally agree with what Knuckles said. Missing an undercover is not going to cause any noticeable instability at legal speed limits. Now, if you put the car in a wind tunnel at 200+ mph, that may be different, but not at 100 mph or less. I think your instability is most likely coming about from side forces on the car's body due to crosswinds.

Any crosswind is going to affect the car's stability some. Even a crosswind as little as 8-12 mph is going to be felt - with gusts being felt even more so. Throw in the mix other cars, vans, box trucks and 18 wheelers traveling in front of you causing 'dirty air' (buffeting turbulence), or passing to your side in either direction and you'll feel it, and you may even struggle a bit to overcome its effects.

Opening your windows, especially when driving in windy crosswind conditions may have actually helped to diminish the amount of surface area side force on the car's body from crosswinds.

Crosswinds don't have to be at high speed to cause trucks to flip on their side, ships to run aground, and planes to abort landings.
