I am familiar with this little button that will lock the doors. I've never known it to unlock though. At any rate, I don't use it.

 

@maiahsdad - Holding the driver's door handle unlocks only the driver's door and there will be 3 beeps heard exterior of the vehicle. This is supposed to happen!

For more than 3 beeps heard exterior of the vehicle when trying to use the key fob to unlock doors, try replacing the battery in your key fob. If that's not the problem it might be one or more of the actuators.

It doesn't do it when I open the car with the keyfob. Only when using my hand on the door handle. The keyfob works perfectly.

 

That's a good guess. I would try what you said. The problem is he says it works fine when using the key fob. And also the actuator is trigging 5 times Not just beeping.

Hey one more though??? Op go to the Passenger door. Is it doing the same thing triggering 5 times???

 

 

I looked that up also. Its in the Owners book too. But would this cover what he said which is - " It's like I grab the handle and it goes through the process of opening the doors like 5 times. So it beeps 5 times. Crazy."

Again if it was me I would try what you said. I think you are on to something!!!

 

The OP's original post says the car is beeping 3 times. In a later post he states the car is trying to unlock the door about 4 or 5 times. Who knows what he's doing or what he's experiencing! I certainly don't understand...

I know, that's why I told him to see if the passenger door was doing the same. Seems its unlocking with the actuator 5 times, and beeping 5 times. Lets see what he says about the pass door? Again I think you are on to something about the "switching the unlock function procedure".

Lets see what he says. And what happens when he does the switching procedure you recommended. b..... be patience.

Yes I want to know this too. This was very strange. I could see 5 beeps as a waring of misfunction or door not completely closed or something like that. But not it trying to unlock with the actuators going 5 times?

 

Do all the doors lock and unlock properly?
Friends '15 Camry did something similar and it turns out the Right Rear Door Lock Actuator was jamming/failing. The car would beep and lock/unlock several times as a warning that something failed.

 

Yes, no issues noticed with other door locks. I thought that once but haven't noticed anything. Or maybe it's so intermittent that I've not caught it. I mostly ride alone.

 

Oh well, I guess you don't want to share with us what the problem was or what needed to be done to fix it.

 

My issue is not fixed. The person asked if the doors would unlock independently. My issue is what I originally stated that it is.

 

I drained the car battery by leaving it on in accessory then jumping it with another car. Seems to have hard rebooted the car and the beeps are back to 1
