Default ZZ wireless Carplay/Android

https://zz-2.com/pages/product-resul...auto-interface

Anyone ever heard or bought this ZZ wireless CP/AA interface? The store that was going to install my GROM said that they have had good success with this product.

All 3 of their interfaces say compatible with 2014-2020 only. Is there a difference between the infotainment betw the 2013 and the 2014-15 that would make my 2013 incompatible with something that works in a 2014-2015? I was under the impression that the infotainment in the 2013-2015 were all the same.

Never heard of them but I'm curious if you go forward. I though the 13-15 were enough alike they would work.

2013-2014 have the same exact plugs on the back
2015 the antenna plugs are different, there were also a bunch of minor improvements to the infotainment, also no spinning hard drive.

In any case the antenna plugs have nothing to do with the carplay/aa unit so as far as the install goes 2013-2015 are the same. technically will also be the same unit for 2016+, but it will have different programming for the full screen and nav controls.

The Carlinkit I have installs on 2013-2020 GS, just have to change some settings based on the vehicle.

Whenever you purchase a kit like this they ask for your year, make, model, and send the kit with correct programming/settings.

Someone should try this and report back to this thread.

It sounds like they are dealer installed only. Not insurmountable but a speed bump.

How much does the unit, and install cost, if dealer only?

Looking through the user manual, the main menu looks exactly like Carlinkit. Looks like they might have altered the icons.
But the layout and everything is exactly the same.

Confirmed this is just rebranded Carlinkit, Except this company installs it for you.
Carlinkit CarPlay/AA unit:

ZZ Video Interface:
The plugs in the pic below are for a different car, but the unit itself is exactly the same. The wireless Carplay/AA unit will have the RF cable connection on it too.

lol they just took something from China and rebranded it as their own. If it's dealer installed I guess you can call it whatever you want.

So, is the Carlink Kit decent? I've resisted buying anything that takes a lot of fiddling around with. Heaven forbid my wife get in and not IMMEDIATELY have it work "like her Honda" always does.

Yea I noticed that too. That's why I was wondering how much they wanted for it being it's the $300 more or less Carlinkit.

Yes. I was one of the earliest adopters, but it's come a long way since. Later firmware revisions from when I purchased it fixed all the major issues. Mine firmware is probably outdated by a year, but it works as intended. When you buy it today it will come with the latest firmware.

Where's a reliable source for it? I'm not finding this exact product. All I get is the Carplay wireless dongle, which does me no good unless I already have Carplay.

I bought mine on eBay but the seller doesn't sell it there anymore.

Just search Carlinkit Lexus or go to the Carlinkit thread and ask the members that posted most recently.

Message this seller on amazon about the kit for the Lexus GS:

You have to remove the head unit, 12.3" display, and glove box(if you mount it in same place as beatsonic install video) to install this. The toggle switches just have to be on the right setting for 2016+.

If that's plug and play then sure.

I have one for my 16+ Full screen upgrade. I got it from that Amazon seller but for only $289 at that time it was on sale for some reason. When you order it. They then ask you to send a pic of the Back of your Head unit. They match and send the one for your plugs on your unit. Its kinda plug and play. There is some settings and stuff to do to get it straight. peasodos know all the info on it. He was the original one to use it.

Bullets Garage did a vid. I think its the same, unless I'm mistaken?
