Default Driver side mirror not functioning properly

My driver side mirror moves up and down but not right or left. Passenger side mirror works fine in all directions so I know it's not the controller. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, exactly my problem.
I live with it, as I don't really need to adjust it.

Found a video where an IS mirror was disassembled. Apparently, you pry away the mirror, expose the internals, there is something like worm gears there, plastic. Looks like the go bad, or go off track.
I haven't attempted this myself though.

It could be that the mirror simply is not firmly seated. This happened to my Sequoia on the up-down axis and I lived with it for a couple of years. Introduce my new driver son who scraped the mirror on the garage wall so hard that the mirror shattered. Replaced the mirror glass and "Viola!" full functionality was restored.

Hi

What ended up being the issue? Did you get it fixed?

Haven't gotten it looked at yet. Waiting for my next service interval. I will update at that time.

When I first got my car, the horizontal adjustment was "sticky" and not operating as it should. I suspected the original owner may have just kept the mirror in the same place for years allowing gunk to build up on the mechanism.

I spent a few minutes forcing the mirror through the full range of motion via the mirror adjustment switch and now it works perfectly. Try holding down the left horizontal adjustment while assisting the motor with your finger by lightly pushing in the left side then do it for the opposite side.

OK so I tried this and it didn't work for me. I wasn't able to get the mirror to move left or right at all even with applying pressure to each side of the mirror and I could hear like a grinding sound when pressing the left right control so I'm going to take it to the shop and see what they say.
