Hey man,
Did you get a chance to drive your CrossClimates in snow yet? Any updates?

Thanks.

yes, I did and they perform phenomenal. No problems at all. Extremely smooth with good traction. I am extremely pleased with these tires so far and do recommend them.

Any other tire recommendations compared o the MXM4 Primacy?
Anyone have experience with GoodYear Assurance WeatherReady?

I recommend you consider going one upsize to the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season 'Plus II' tires in 245/45R18 100V XLBSW size with 70,000 mile warranty (Discount Tire Item# 86769). The price for these tires were $205 each as of a couple months ago in early December, 2021.

I can just say that I have 0 confidence in Michelin.
Had a set of brand new. X-Ice3 on my car last winter and they didn’t even grab in snow. Car was just sliding around on top of the snow.
Most bull**** tires I’ve ever experienced.

/\ Plus 1.

After only using Michelin tires on my car for many, many years. I don't think Michelin is what they use to be now a days. They have some great tires, but also put out some crap for consumers to buy, and then either discontinue them or update, as if consumers money is their R&D.

There also something else I notice which is... Stock new car Michelin tires wear way, way longer than the same exact model you buy from a tire shop as replacement. Last 3 set of new Michelin tires I bought were just ok, nothing special. They were expensive as hell. Wore super fast, and when they got a little wear they sucked in the rain and got noisier than they use too. I changed Michelin model type, no difference, same problem.

As b/c said if you are running the 18" running the 245-45-18 Pirelli P7 would make you very happy. It's like a improved Michelin tire IMO. Same with other tires sizes. Pirelli is my go to tire now the last few years. Goodyears? No way. Compare them to Pirelli. Cheap tires.

I'm going to the dealer on a warranty claim on my Michelin's tomorrow for my RX. 60,000 mile tire with 23k on them and they're almost bald. They're putting a different model of Michelin's on for $500. If they didn't honor the warranty I would've bought another brand. I've always bought the brand but after this set I don't have confidence in them anymore.

Awesome. Thank you for the update.

Sucks that some folks here are having some rough time with Michelin tires overall. I have had three different Michelins in three different vehicles I have owned and so far, knock on the wood, they all have been great. My last ones were the Michelin Premiums on my Prius that I got from Costco about 3.5 years ago. After putting about 24000 miles on them, they still sound and handle pretty good. But then again, its a Prius, the hardest I ever drove that car was pretty much never, so I am pretty sure even the Pepboys branded tires would do just fine in it.

Apart from feedback from members here, this review also influenced my decision.

Always a good idea to check the torque and pressure on your tires after installation. Lexus used an impact when putting my wheels back on and didn't torque to the proper specs. If I were to have had a flat after the new tires I would never have gotten the wheel off. One tire was 39 psi and the others were 31 to 35. Nothing like using the trusted experts at your Lexus dealer when getting service.

i got 245-45-18 goodyear eagle f1....their wet weather performance is extraordinary. We get torrential rain so that was critical for me and it worked out great; they are also so much quieter than the stock dunlops.

Mine came with Contis and so far I like them a lot. Drove over the Sierras to Nevada and back and I can say that they handle superbly.

Just 23K... ouch. I hope I have better experience with Michelins than you did.

I had noticed sometime ago that Michelin was getting pretty skimpy on the tread depth on their brand new tires. Many of them were 9/32 or 9.5/32 depth. Keep in mind that 2/32 is when you hit the wear indicators. I've personally never kept a tire beyond 3-4/32 as they tend to have lost a bit of bad weather performance by that point.

Many other brands tires are 10/32 or 11/32 from brand new.

Basically, you're behind the 8 ball on Michelins now from the start. I've gone to Pirelli's and Continentals because of it.

I doubt there will be much life to the replacement set and I'll probably go a different brand next time. I always had good results with the brand and pretty disappointed with the quality.

I agree with everything you said here. Michelin's wear too too fast and skimp on the claimed tread depth.

If I get close to 4/32's I'm looking for tires asap. Pirelli's P7's are at 12/32's to start. I actually measure all 4 at 12.3/32's!!!
