I had a 2013 base gs350 and the head lights move up and down at start up. Does anybody know if 2018 gs350 f sport does the same

 

no i mean when the 2013 car started up the headlights did it by it self. The light beam would go up and down at night

 

Your car needs to have the auto leveling so called adapted front lighting (AFS) capability/option for the light dance to happen on startup..

 

Yes, my '18 F Sport does the same thing, when I start the ignition and my lights are on. Probably do it when they're off, as well. But, I just haven't checked.

 

I think auto leveling is standard. AFS, where it swivels left/right is part of a package.

 

@itsraysgs agreed - I thought that all 4GS's come standard with auto-leveling which causes the headlights to move up/down on startup as part of a system "test" (my old 2001 GS430 had this feature). The AFS is a separate feature that is not standard (usually included in Lux or F-Sport package) that swivels the lamp left/right when turning.

 

I have the feature.

So if you do a up/down adjustment under the hood. Does it stay adjusted, or go back to one Factory preset position Auto?

 

Mine stays in the adjusted position

 

it will stay adjusted, but will continue to auto level if needed

 

My 2018 f sport doesnt do that and it has that feature.

So if I adjust it up the cut off beam lets say 1/2 inch pointing it at a Wall? Will the Auto adjust it back to the 1/2 lower, or where I adjusted it 1/2 up and stay?

 

It should stay at the new position.

I'm pretty sure the Auto-Leveling (up and down) is standard on all 2013-2020 GS and the Adaptive (left and right) could be an option on the Triple-Beam headlights.

Those with the triple beams, do ur headlights go left and right? My 21 ES with triple beams does.

 

I will check tonight, but I thought mine appeared to go around like 360 degrees. Then set.

 

yes it goes up and down but also goes side to side at the same time

 

If you adjust your level manually, then auto level will be based off of what you adjusted.

It will not go back to the original level.
