Sold my almost 82K mile '13 GS350 Luxury with HUD and Mark Levison back in November after I purchased my Model Y.

Vroom/Carmax offered $15,550
Lexus dealership offered $16,000
Carvana offered $17,743

Didn't bother to try Tesla so I went with Carvana's offer. It was a painless process with everything online. I spent maybe 5 minutes on that Saturday to drop off the car, they test drove it around the lot and signing papers. Direct deposit was in my bank account by Tuesday.

Highjacking the thread, but how do you like the model Y compared to your GS?

I have been snooping around Tesla for a while.

i traded in my 06 GS300 for 4500 with 155k miles for a LS460, the car was in excellent condition, just the sunroof stop working, the cd changer door had to be open manually. Probably could have got more but i just wanted the whole purchase rolled all into one.

Sadly Lexus has lost me by discontinuing the GS line and instead of looking at the GSF I am considering trading in for a Mercedes C63S.
How could MB say $15,500-$18,300?

I think you will be really happy with the C63S. It is a very peppy car and can be tuned easily to put out gobs more power than the GSF. I have several friends with tuned C63S and they are very quick cars.

Just for fun and games I plugged in my car to both Vroom and Carvana and they are out of their mind with their offers. My 2015 F-Sport with exactly 55.2k miles, clean title, no accidents, clean interior/exterior, loaded, etc. Yet I'm seeing exact year and models with nearly double miles non F-Sport models right now going anywhere between $20-25k on CarsGuru, Auto Trader, Cars Etc.. these car companies sure have some insane buffer for profit margins.

That is really really low. My Car priced at $22,700 last week with Vroom and $21,900 with Carvana. Same 2015 F Sport model year but with 42K miles. I noticed you are in Illinois and that market might be dead now for the GS. I am not sure. I am in Atlanta and I ended up trading in the vehicle at a local dealer for $23K. But yes, they want to have at least a $3000 premium at retail. Some would be happy to make a little less but then you have to add the ridiculous dealer's fee or doc fees. In addition, they are all going to tell you how these cars are not selling and how they are sitting on the lot for a long time and blah blah blah. Anything to rip your heart out. I was also due to replace my front brakes and pads as well as the brake fluids. I thought of the extra expense when trading in the car.

Seems like something is not right about those offers?

I am aware of this. But your offers are a least $k low comparison wise. Does you car have any Car Fax accident reports?

FWIW, Carvana just lowballed me at 14k. Had just done a KBB instant cash offer 3 days ago and they offered 17k...

15 GS Luxury with 80k miles.

Love the Model Y, I ended up with the performance upgrade performance. It's not as supple as the GS or any luxury car but they aren't marketing it as one. I love the extra space the CUV offers and the minimalist interior (not for everyone). Instant torque is ridiculous in all the Teslas.

Few things I do miss with the GS are:
Seats (adjustable headrests)
Blind spot monitors
Ride quality to an extent

Few things I don't miss:
Updating the dated navigation maps and no apple car play/android auto (Tesla doesn't have car play or android auto but I don't have to worry about outdated maps or outdated infotainment center. Anyone remember that Lexus GS commercial with the tape deck and marketed their infotainment center as upgradable? That was one reason I purchased my GS and this feature never come true.)
Routine maintenance
Getting gas
Dealing with the dealerships:
I had this popping noise in my GS whenever I go up my driveway at an angle. Dealership fixed it but it came back after a couple years and they refuse to fix it again.
Sunroof cover in the GS would always move a few mm and that allowed wind noise to come in. Dealership told me this was 'normal.'
Had a ceramic coating put on my GS and after a couple months while in for service, the dealership ran it through the wash even after I asked for no wash. I had big yellow post over the Nav screen and speedometer that said "No Wash Please" my invoice said customer request no car wash. They ran it through anyways and denied it at first then said oh one run through the wash shouldn't ruin your coating if it's that good. Never again with the ceramic coating.

I was offered a full day to drive an Audi e-tron earlier this month. I didn't even know Audi had the all electric e-tron starting back in 2019 but this would have been a top contender for me if I had known it was available.

Things I loved about the e-tron were compared to the Model Y:
Quietness - on par with Mercedes S or Lexus LS.
Smooth Ride - due to the active air suspension. Ride quality was so smooth and as I get older this is becoming more appealing to me.
Massaging seats - we found this feature by accident. There are actual rollers in the front seats and they work even while you drive.
Torque - it's no where as brutal as Tesla but wished there was more of it on tap if you need it.
Audi's version of autopilot - from a safety perspective the Audi version requires more drive awareness than Tesla

Things I didn't like compared to the Model Y:
Too many screens in the etron
Not a lot of torque on tap
Charging stations are dependent on third parties
Range was lower vs Model Y

Sorry for the long rant/reply.

If you're on the fence on getting a Tesla, I say go test drive them. I put down a deposit for the Cyber Truck before I bought the Model Y. My wife asked me how do I know I would like driving an EV in general if I don't test drive one while putting a deposit down on one. So we went to test drive the Model Y and after the test drive I knew I *****ed up because I started to build the Model Y sitting in my GS after the test drive.

You need a membership or know someone who has one to Manheim. That's the value you will get. Period. NADA, KBB, etc are just blowing smoke up your behind. Although, my insurance agent used KBB when they totaled my 2008 GS...it was way higher than anyone else.
