Trade in $$$
A lot of you are giving tons of information and I appreciate it but I’m really looking more for actual examples from people who have traded in

Before switching over to the GS, I had went to CarMax to get my infiniti appraised. They had told me what the car was worth (not saying for privacy reasons), then I went to Lexus to see how much they would offer for my infiniti and they offered me 2000 lower than CarMax. I had kept the appraisal paperwork from CarMax and showed it to the dealer at Lexus and they actually gave me 1000 more than CarMax because they wanted to do business with me. I had told the Lexus dealer I'd take my infiniti back to CarMax and get the GS over there because Lexus wanted to give me 2000 less for my infiniti. Lexus ended up giving me a better deal because they wanted me to buy from them lol. Hopefully this long story helps out.
Actual examples are going to be hard to come by. The GS didn't sell many units each year and then you are basing it off a forum that tends to have users who keep their cars for a while. Then you have to throw in regionality. Each market is going to be slightly different. Go out to every website that will give you a trade-in value. Average them all out and that gives you a baseline. Good luck.
Everyone's experience will be different. 100k miles or 30k mi? Yr? Options? Best to just get a quote yourself if you need exact info.
Worst case scenario, the dealer should match carmax, carvana, vroom, and other online estimates for you but they don't have to....
As another poster mentioned.. using MMR and blackbook values COULD help as well but no guarantees.
Just sell it privately using KBB or Edmunds and then you don't have to deal with dealers lowballing you.
FWIW, I was offered $2k less than Carmax initially on my ES350 but I brought the offer sheet and the dealer matched.
I have friend who used to work at a dealer and he sent me screenshots of using MMR/black book value of the trade and the car for sale and the mgr flat out refused. He said he will let the market dictate the sale price. Also it was the only Lux trim model in the whole area and I wanted Lux over F-Sport...
Had I waited it out I probably could've gotten more but I didn't want to lose the car so I just took the Carmax match...
A month later I saw the car for sale listed $5k above what they gave me for trade in - I followed it for few weeks and it went down $2k until it was gone.. lol

The trade value is based on the current market of the GS. KBB, NADA and whatever other sources can give trade values, but the dealer will look at what a GS of x-year with x-mileage will sell for in the current market, being local or regional, and base the trade value on that. The dealer is there to make money so they will always value your trade with room to up it when they put it on the lot to sell it. This insight is not my opinion, but straight from two different sales managers at different dealerships. The one manager did tell me I would probably get more money selling private, and I did appreciate his honesty. I am one who traded btw.
im in the process to see who gives more for my gs. carvana give the less. ima try to go carmax and see how much they will give me. my car is 90k mile and carvanna offer me 11k and dealership offer me 15.6k.

Sadly Lexus has lost me by discontinuing the GS line and instead of looking at the GSF I am considering trading in for a Mercedes C63S.
2014 GS350 AWD F Sport 66k miles (Brooklyn, NY) - Sold to carvana for $19,551. They offered me $20900 two months ago but I hadn’t found my replacement car yet so didn’t pull the trigger fast enough. Pickup took less than five minutes - driver just started the car and had me sign a few pages of paperwork. Super easy and convenient if the price is right.
My experience with trade-in is shop the car around. Carmax, Carvana or Vroom or even some Lexus dealers maybe offer the best price given it's the same brand. I helped my friend trade in his SUV and the same high price at the dealership as Vroom.
I just traded in my 2015 F Sport with 42K miles. I had three quotes prior to going to the dealership. Vroom had offered me $22,700. Carvana Had Offered me $21,900. and KBB put me at $23,100. All these quotes were made here in Atlanta. I was getting quotes every 10 to 14 days until I finally traded-in the car and prices were changing pretty rapidly which made a lot of sense. It is now 2021 and the car was a 2015 model. Basically, it is now considered a 7-year-old car even though the car was only 5.5 years old.
I had a love-hate relationship with my car since I bought it as a CPO a little over two years ago. I loved everything about it EXCEPT the seat comfort and to a lesser extent the gas mileage. I was never able to get comfortable in this F Sport car after driving it for more than 15 to 20 minutes. My back was always fatigued and it got in my head. As a car, I can not think of a better purchase I ever made (Investment wise) . I bought it the car for $29K and I traded it in for $23K. It only cost me about $6000 to drive a GS for 26 months and I did not spend any money in the service department due to the 24 months free service that comes with all their CPOs. I only replaced the tires which also helped with the condition of the trade.
I should mention that the $23K I received was at a non-Lexus dealership and the initial negotiation started at around $21,200 with a lot of "right now these cars are not even selling. They take about 90 days to sell. blah blah blah". I had targeted three cars and I figured to walk out on any of them if the deal did not make sense. You have to have thick skin to be able to go into a dealership with a certain attitude. Otherwise, one will get hosed. After playing games at the first dealership and the one choice, we made it work. Don't fall in love with anything and make sure you do your research prior to stepping foot at a dealership. I also wanted to take advantage of the tax savings by trading in a vehicle vs selling the vehicle on my own. IT would have been somewhat of a wash

At any rate, this is where things changed. I got a phone call from my daughter who is away at school telling me that she got an internship and she would need a car to commute to and from work a few times a week. I knew the time would come sooner or later where that call would come. So I decided to look for a vehicle for her. I ended up trading in the GS for a CPO KIa Sportage. Yes, somewhat of an unsual of a trade. LOL! but again, I had to get her a car and this was probably the perfect opportunity to do it. The funny thing is that this little KIA is pretty loaded with stuff that my car did not even have. such as many of the current safety features and, Apple car play, etc etc. It also opened up my eyes to other vehicles out there that perhaps I would have never considered. I can tell you that as I was sitting at the dealership, there were a few luxury customers looking at the new Telluride and Sorrento's. It is pretty amazing what the Koreans are doing. In the meantime, I will be driving my sons car who happens to be also away at school. This is only going to last just a few months or until he comes back. It gives me a little more time to figure out which vehicle to purchase. Lexus is the best when it comes to minimizing the depreciation
