Belt and Spark Plug Change Question
@peasodos , thanks for those instructions. Got the belt changed and made a huge difference. Although, now, I hear a different noise. Would love to get your feedback on what you think it might be:

Gang, I am thinking of doing the belt. Peasodos, can you explain a bit how the tensioner works. In my mind, it is a pulley that you adjust to get the right tension, like you push on the belt somewhere so it moves only 1 cm in or something....or is it a self tensioning thing where it just has some internal spring and it pushes on the belt. I guess a better quesion is who do you set the correct tension ?
Also, when you said " use one wrench to move the tensioner, another to lock the tensoner in place, then swap the belts,"
What the heck is a bi-hexagon wrench ? I have lots of tools but never heard of that. Can I use any wrench and from the pic it simply looks like you shove something in a hole to just hold the tensioner away so it released the tension. When everything is loose, it should be easy to swap the belt right? Thank you

The tensioner is the only pulley that moves beyond its own rotation on the bearings. The tensioner swings along an arc that snugs the belt up against all the other pulleys. It has a stiff spring that keeps it at the proper tension. When you put a wrench on the tensioner pulley bolt, you are rotating against the spring. Then you place a hex wrench in the visible hole to essentially put the pin in the grenade so you can pull the old belt off. Once you put the new belt on and have it aligned properly, you pull the pin and the tensioner takes up the slack. I would recommend you use the wrench on the tensioner bolt to gently take the pin out and allow the belt to be tightened without trauma.
