Full replacement motor part is fc140se8z550, which is a direct replacement including the correct gear. There are some on amazon for $15.

I could not get the motor apart: those little tabs are tiny and tough. But I was able to get it working again by cleaning the motor and running it on a 9v for a little while to burn the lube off the brushes. There were visible arcs and rough operation at first, and after a few minutes, the arcs ceased, and the motor ran smoothly. These little motors run so little and so seldom. The solution to successfully long running operation may be to exercise them on occasion: run the mirrors through their full range of motion to run the motors a bit.
