I was quoted around $1100 to do a full 60k service which included spark plugs from a local Lexus Dealer. I have a local mechanic so when i'm ready, i'm planning to buy the plugs myself and have him do it. From the dealership, I think half of the cost for the 60k service is really the spark plugs - ask for a quote to do just plugs and it will be around $$500-700.

I think if you go the route of the dealership, you can do an oil change which is usually anywhere between $75-$150 which includes the standard multi-point inspection. Then ask them about changing out the plugs. You might save a few hundred bucks by going this route and you'll essentially get the same "60k service."

The 60K service is one of the biggest rip offs. It should be well under $200. You don't need to change the plugs at 60K, you likely don't have to change them at double that mileage. The rest is mainly just checking hoses and fluid levels, oil change, no need to pay all that money at the dealership.

Most of this stuff is not necessary and the rest is easily done.

Had mine in to replace the clock spring / spiral cable in the steering wheel at 84k miles. They gave me recommended services including replacing the spark plugs $500.00, alignment $140.00 and fuel induction service $342.00.

Spark plugs should cost only around $100.00 for parts even if they need replaced and while I haven't replaced mine are supposedly easy.

Alignment, not a terrible price but as I have no tracking issues and no wear issues seems pointless.

Induction cleaning probably not needed. They included pictures showing dirty valves which shouldn't even really be an issue since we have direct and port injection so kind of misleading.

That's not a bad dealer price...
I believe Silicon Valley dealers charge close to $2,000 (or more) for a 60K F Sport service.
Among other things, they perform a brake fluid flush.

Good luck.

I'm not a big fan of stealerships. They have to find ways to make money to pay for all those shiny cars, employees, and fancy coffee/refreshments as well as the nice lounges and not to mention the rent for the huge facility.

Our cars are not rockets. They are not engineered and require specialized maintenance like a space shuttle. We drive Toyotas -- one of the most, if not the most, reliable cars on the planet (don't forget basic!).

Bring your car to a reputable mechanic and you can get all the work there. You gain nothing from taking a car and paying at the dealership unless you needed some unusual troubleshooting/work.

Many say "peace of mind." Well I hope you know that "peace of mind" sells everything because you can't put a price on it. It's the 3 most frequently used words in the sales industry!

If you add up all the 60k replaceable parts they would cost about $200.00. If you take out the plugs which probably don't need changed, it would be about $100.00 and take no more than 1.5 hrs to complete.
