GS Not Dead
I’m sure have already seen it, but the GS is supposedly not dead. It will be new for 2022, and will be based on the new Toyota Mirai.
2022 will also bring a new Tundra and 4runner as well as a v8 LC.

No the thread starter is correct, according to a few reports someone snuck a snap shot of a dealer meeting future products PowerPoint presentation and amongst several models being redesigned for the Lexus brand the leaker mentioned a new 5GS or RWD midsize sedan none the less. The leaker mentioned this new vehicle would be built off the new Toyota Mirai rear wheel drive architecture which I believe is based off Toyota’s GA-L modular architecture. If these leaked reports are true it would have around a 115” inch wheelbase, 195.8” long and in the range 74” wide based off the dimensions of the upcoming Mirai FCV. The leaker also mentioned a redesign IS coming too.

@JDR76 LOL....
And of course we had this recent thread which mentioned the GS line would be discontinued: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...its-lineup.htm

Please allow me to excuse myself from this thread. I lost my Lexus GS in a wreak last year and replaced it with a E-class so I haven’t been actively keeping up with my 4GS threads as much as I use to.
I’ve now read enough sufficient post in similar GS is dead dead/killing of the GS threads to now realize the GS is going away and not returning. It’s a sad truth. But luckily we are getting a rather attractive hydrogen fuel cell sedan with RWD. Unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of living in the State of California or Hawaii so I won’t be able to purchase the new Mirai.

GS was a Lexus exclusive platform
and not shared with Toyota (at least in American markets). Saying that it’s a new GS simply because it’s RWD isn’t accurate.
That is simply a RWD H-cell vehicle. It won’t look, feel, or act like a GS. GS is also ONLY produced in Japan...and if they stop PRODUCTION there in August...that’s it for every market, not just Japan’s market.

The GS in its current form is EOL, NADM dont want it on their lots as its a hard sell. The Mirai was designed from the ground up to be the successor to the current GS. Last minute the program was redirected and reworked to become the Mirai posted above. I guess Lexus wasnt happy, and now the original plans to launch it are back in motion. This is the newest rumor/news and yet to be confirmed.'
EDIT: Seems to be a rumor mill generator that was overreaching on their information.
