Default Front Bumper

Hi guys! So I have a question. I had no idea what to search for or if there was anything to search for. Anyway, I have a silver 2014 GS. I remember a while ago, there were some other people here who had silver ones, too and they painted the middle bar on the front bumper black. I don't remember the threads they were in, but I'm interested in doing that to mine. I was wondering how you guys did it? I'm not handy with anything, so I was thinking I would have to have it done by a body shop. I got a quote for $400 to do it and to do a minor repair. Is having it professionally painted the way you guys did it?

I saved a couple pics of the cars to use as reference. I hope it is okay, but here is the example I am talking about. I remember this car has a lip on it, but I am just asking about the middle bar. I hope it is okay I saved the picture.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not silver and Fsport bumper though but still decided to pitch in... I have second bumper painted since first got cracked. First bumper paint cost me $250 which was much better line between white/black, second $300.

I first did mines in a glossy black vinyl. Cost was 200 at the time. I also thinks that's the better choice. I have it now painted glossy black cost is about 150 and needs to be done about every year due to rock chips.

Hey, that’s my car - no problem for using it as a reference. I got the lip from eBay and had a collision shop do it all. I would go the route of having a professional do it. My collision shop did a good job in regards to lining up the center of the grill and painting it + painting the lip too..

Go with the professionals but also maybe have the center part of the grill wrapped in protection film to protect from rock chips.

Thanks so much, Zsikd! Yours looks so good. I'm going to work on blackening my emblems, too and I need to retint my windows. I'm excited to get the front done.
