Default Spare Key Fob (Do I need to program it)

Hey all,
So when I purchased my GS about a month ago they told me I had a spare key fob coming in a week. I didn't have a chance to pick up the spare till this afternoon at the parts department. They didn't tell me anything about programming or how to activate it. After I gave my info they gave me the spare key and I was on my way. I got home, and to my surprise the key does not unlock the door. Battery seems fine red light blinks when I hit the unlock button but nothing happens. Do I need to get my key programmed by the dealer? Is there a way to program myself? I just don't want to come out of pocket to program the key when they told me it was suppose to come with a spare like any other vehicle. Anyone ever got a new key fob? What was the process? Thanks in advance.

I would think the selling dealer would program it for no charge since you purchased the car from them recently.

Yea, it needs to be programmed. Takes all of 30 seconds, but the dealer should do it for free.
