Anyone have issues with their passenger mirror? It will move up and down but not side to side. It will also lower in reverse if I select a mirror button on the door. I believe it worked when I bought the car last year. I don't recall any issue in positioning the mirror when I first drove it but a few months later I tried to readjust it and it won't move left and right.

Are there any common issues with these that might be easy to fix? What would explain this behavior?

 

Had this problem, the gear in the mirror is gone, you need to replace the motor pieces, is it still under warranty.

 

Not under warranty, unfortunately.

 

Happened to mine also, thankfully under warranty for me. Lexus quoted $400+ just for parts before we verified the warranty was still valid. I would look for a used one and swap the guts into your shell.

 

Looks like the smallest part I can get is the Mirror Base which includes the motor and all the wiring for $347.00 but I couldn't find one in my paint, starfire pearl, which the parts catalog lists as "white pearl"

Out of curiosity, is it possible to add folding mirrors to the 2013s? The part descriptions didn't even mention folding mirrors, but perhaps that's because it was not even available in 2013.

 

you can get the 2014+ mirror assembly with folding option and use ur 2013 mirror so ur bsm works.
