Over the last month or so, I've been getting a squeaking sound during braking (I believe from the rear). Had my front pads replaced back in March, and when this started, thought it was time to have the rear pads done as well. For convenience and cost, I went to Mavis (please don't judge me). I have been to this local one over the years for minor things with other vehicles, and they've been pretty good. Tech came out and said that the pads still have nearly 40% left, but the squeaking is most likely coming from the rotors, which appear to have a good amount of rust build up. Mavis doesn't resurface rotors (at least this one doesn't), so he told me as long as I can deal with the sound, it would be fine. Thing is, I cannot deal with the sound. Would it make sense to get the rotors resurfaced without replacing the pads? I've had the car for about 20 month and have put 50k miles on. I do drive hard, so I was shocked to know the rear pads had that much life left. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!
Front pads do most of the work. I'm not surprised your rear pads are still in good shape. I'd get the rear rotors resurface and get some new rear pads, they're cheap < $50 so why not do it at the same time.

Thank you, I was leaning in that direction. I like to use my transmission to brake quite a bit. I'm sure that has contributed to the life left on the pads
