I agree with the rest of the commenters, that charge and excuse are unacceptable. Call Lexus Corporate and tell them.

If they replicate the issue, the $200 will not be charged to me. I didn't have time to take it to another dealer so I said to just do it because I needed to get back to work. I
Tell him to go out and violate the speed limit in your car during regular business hours.

FYI. 60 to 80mph in many states is normal speed limit. Even in Texas there is 85 speed limit and you can go about triple digits without getting pulled over. Just saying, each state is different. lol

I spend lots of time driving in California. People go 80+, but that’s not the speed limit.

Not sure how to best explain this but I was driving the GS yesterday (2015 model) and I noticed on the freeway the steering got "stuck" and I had to somewhat forcefully move it right to get it unstuck? It didn't happen all the time but it did occur a few times at the end of my 2 hour drive to San Diego. Has this happened to anyone else before or is this just normal behavior. It seemed to only happen when I was cruising around 60-80MPH. Basically at times (not every time), I had to put more than normal effort to turn the steering wheel (driving in ECO).

Any input is appreciated, thanks.
facing the same issue with my 2015 IS350, how did you fix this, anything would help.

I have 2015 FSport awd and have exact same issue. It only happens during long drive on interstate hwy. after about 300 miles. The steering wheel kinda binds and requires some force to move it and then becomes normal for next 30 minutes. Daily driving on short distances highway or street speed limit never reproduce same issue.

yesterday I’ve been at my dealership and they told me that most likely the electric motor gets overheated and it could be an issue. Bu5 they were not 100% sure.
so they said that they could replace the whole steering system which would cost $6000 but they not really recommend because the issue is not verified and required some investigation.

I believe a handful of early year (2013-2015) model 4th Gen GS 350s had an issue with the steering rack that would hang-up (bind) and steering would be hard to turn. I'm sure Lexus is aware of this in a few cases.

In one case located in California a customer complained numerous times how dangerous it was to drive the car when it unexpectedly would bind or hang-up. Lexus eventually gave-in (after the customer's car sat for many months at the dealership before a decision was made), Lexus corporate had the dealership's service department replace the car's entire steering rack and steering motor and this car was given a 'lemon title' and sold at auction...
