**** Car wash damaged my left side tail light lens. Any ideas on how to replace it if I find buy the piece ?? 2014 GS 350 F.

get used from ebay... in order to swap you need to remove trunk carpet cover, taillight piece is being held by 3x 10mm bolts.

 

Having a real hard time finding the piece. Dealer wants 350 (Canadian) just for the piece. Anyone have ideas, Canada ideally

If the car wash damaged your car, and they acknowledge having done so, why are you trying to find the part and trying to save money? Let your Lexus dealership's body shop order the part and repair it, and have the car wash pay for it.

Did you alert the car wash that your lens was damaged?

 

That's a shame the car wash didn't take responsibility for the damage they caused to your car. You must not have noticed the damage until after you left the car wash.

I really don't understand how a car wash could break the tail light lens. Did some part or piece of equipment in the car wash hit the lens? Do you know?

Lexus dealer scratched my taillight lens and replaced it. Maybe see how much they charge for labor?

 

THANKS but you see, these are for the whole light component, I only need the outer red lens !!! Lot of money to replace just the outer lens. I stil havent found just the lens.

aha... now I see what route you wanted to go...

Personally I would replace the whole unit, factory sealed and no future leaking. So far I've never seen outer piece for sale, even Lexus don't have that part sold separately.

 

OP - What is your insurance deductible?

 

You can't buy just the lens, plus it would never be a factory tight seat. Just buy a used tail light unit and swap it out, only held on by 3 nuts. Easy swap. Then sell your broken one for what you can get.
