I read this thread yesterday and today I was on the road listening to audio via bluetooth and a message came. I clicked READ, it read it and resumed playing without any issues. Update your firmware, it's most likely the culprit. You can do it yourself, download it from lexusdrivers.com and put it on a flash drive.

I just found a fix. While in BT mode and listening, when message comes in, physically press the pause/play button on cd player. Music mutes, then click on "read message" button. Works like a charm with music resuming back all on its own...maybe this will help somebody else in the future
